Will you pray with me?

I know the power of pray. Especially in the blog world. Word travels fast. My cousin and his wife, Mia are expecting their second baby, a boy, in February. She got news today from a quad screening test that the baby might have Trisomy 18. She will have an amniocentesis Monday at 4pm.

This is just heart breaking to me. I know they have not been given a 100% diagnosis, but you know how the flesh can be. I have read, I don't know how many, blogs about women with babies born with T18. It's heartbreaking. I have to admit I actually get nervous thinking about having another baby.

BUT
GOD is FAITHFUL and his ways are PERFECT, even if it's not our ways.
Will you pray with me?

Randomness

Hello life, I need you to slow down just a little bit, please!

There has been a lot going on lately in The Waldrop Fam. And I just haven't had the time for blogging. : (

I am really working on limiting my computer time when I am at home to spend more time with Chad&Olivia. I really wonder how "mommy bloggers" have the time to post every. single. day.

Here's what we have been up to lately and a few things we have planned.



  • Olivia had her one year check up Friday. It was the longest visit ever. There was only one doctor to see all the patients. We got called back quickly, only to sit in that tiny room for a little over an hour. Not fun with a one year old. : ) So glad that my mom was there to help me entertain Olivia.

  • Little miss' stats: 18lbs, 27inches, 10th percentile for height and weight. She is a tiny thing, but perfectly healthy. The Doctor said she is right on track to be a 5'1 110lb adult. I am not surprised. I am only 5'1. Plus my dad is on the shorter side for a man and his mother was only 4'11. So, it's in the genes.

  • Wednesday, September 16th was our 3 year anniversary. I really can't believe we have been married 3 years. We didn't do anything big. I bought Chad some clothes from OldNavy where we ended up exchanging everything and ended up with 2 pair of blue jeans and he got me a pair of Emily Rae earrings with pearl charms. Love them! I am now an official dangley earring girl! : )

  • Friday night we went to the big city for dinner a little window shopping at the mall and ended up at Barnes & Noble of places for coffee. We browsed the book isles and joked about all the people there just hanging out and reading. We are not readers. I wished I was though. Maybe one day!

  • We did hang out in the kids section for a little while and browsed through the "Little" books by Roger Hammerstein. They are so cute and funny. We saw this book listed and wanted to get it for Olivia, but they didn't have any. : (


  • Me&Chad have started a bible study based on marriage. It's going really well. It is somewhat difficult to find time to go through it, but we are doing it!

  • We are going to the Alabama/Arkansas game Saturday. I am so excited. I haven't been to game since probably 9th grade.

  • Sunday night is our Sunday school class get together. We are having an 80's Skate Party. It's going to be so much fun! I can't wait to see what everybody will be wearing.

  • We missed church Sunday morning. I hate missing church. It just makes me feel bad all day. I did however pick up in the house and cooked. Which I really need to start doing more of...We watched The Secret Life of the Bees with Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifa and Jennifer Hudson. Such a good movie! It made me cry. I wouldn't be surprised. : )


  • I don't know about where your from, but down South, it has done nothing but rain, rain, rain. Which means little critters have no where to go. So the ants have decide our house would be a nice home. : ) Ugh, no thank you! Thankfully we have not seen any more "guests" since Monday.

Alright, that's enough of my randomness and rambling. Hope it wasn't too much of a bore!

His Word is Living!!

Sorry for my post-less week. It has been crazy around here. My fellow co-worker Charlene is on vacation this week and I am her back up. Charlene, would it be okay if you never go on vacation again? : )

It hasn't really been that bad. And I would also like Charlene and who ever else who reads this to know that I have been getting to work by 8:30! That is pretty huge for me. My normal hours are 9-9:30.



Enough of that. What I really came here to talk about is a lot better. : )



I am have been a follower of Angie's blog Bring the Rain for some time. She is wonderful and has an amazing story. If you are ever having a downer day she will totally turn that around! Well a couple of months ago (I am not really sure when) she had mentioned that she and her family took in a mom, "C", and her two small daughters. She couldn't give a lot of details, but just asked that everyone remember them in their prayers. So yesterday I was checking out my google reader and noticed a posts from Angie entitled, Meet C. She was basically letting everyone know that C now has her own blog and is sharing her story. I headed over to her blog to see what her story was all about. I was quickly moved by her story. The whole time I was reading I really felt God telling me I had to share this story with a friend.



So, I start a new message and begin explaining all these blogs and giving a little background information and start to spill my heart....for the most part. Honestly, I really didn't know what to say. I just knew that she needed to hear/read this woman's story and know that there is hope. You see when we feel like we have reached our rock bottom and that no one cares, Jesus is still there waiting on us.



I ended the email with a scripture that I have read a couple of times and thought it would "sound good." At first I didn't give a whole lot of thought to it, but He had other plans. I had planned on just sharing Ephesians 3:20, but something told me to read the verses before 20.



For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to gasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.



Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we all ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!!





Uhm...Hello God, you have my full attention!! : )

I have never felt his presence so strongly. I don't know what it was, but that was just as much for me as it were for my friend.



Lately, I have been struggling a lot with the direction my life is going spiritually. I really feel like God is doing a new thing in my life like never before. Yesterday God really opened my eyes to that. I don't want to be preachy, but it's time for change. It's time to put the worldly and foolish things behind. He wants more from us. He wants us. We only have to acknowledge him and let him in to work in us and through us. When we get rid of all the other "stuff" God will step in and take control, and well...HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!!







God, Thank you for being so faithful, even when I am not.

Pictures with Amy

Hello. I have been somewhat MIA. It's been a busy week. People have been requesting posting. They are upset when they visit and there is no new post! I want to know all these other mysterious people. If you read, why don't you comment? It's okay to leave some feedback every now and then. You can leave a comment even you don't have an account... : )

So last week I mentioned that we were having family picture/birthday pics made.
Oh. My. Word. They are awesome!! Amy did a fantastic job, just like I knew she would. I have been looking at her work ever since I was pregnant. She is very talented and Olivia took right to her.

The one thing I hate about having pictures made is deciding which ones to get and in what size and then it usually takes me for-ever to have them framed and then decide where I will hang them. And actually the only pictures I have up are her three month pictures. Sigh. It's just so hard to get everything done. And I am so bad about putting stuff off and then well...now she is 1 and I don't even have six month old pictures printed! BUT I did have them made and I have the CD!! : ) Oh well....such is life.

Halloween in September

I may be a little early and will possibly change my mind before it's all said and done BUT I think I have found Olivia's Halloween costume for this year.



This year should be lots of fun since she can walk around and interact.

A girl can never have to many shoes

I picked up these shoes Thursday when I only had intentions of buying a bow for the pictures we had made yesterday. I have always loved Puddle Jumpers, even before I was pregnant. I just think they are to stinkin' cute. They retail for $30. I ended up getting these for $24 because there was this sticky stuff on them. (The size I needed happened to be the display shoe & the last one they had in stock.) I probably shouldn't have got the discount since the sales associate got the stuff off, but he offered it and well...I accepted it! : )

When I got back to the office I was checking the website to see all the color options and if there was any kind of a mark up on the shoes. Which there wasn't. I was looking around and came across the same pair in Cranberry.


Adorable, huh? Guess how much they were?

$12!!!!!!

I was thinking this had to be a mistake. I just bought a pair for $30 $24.


And they actually had my size!! It made my day.

I ♥ DVR

Early this Summer I was trying to save a few pennies and changed my cable provider, leaving our beloved Directv to go back to Charter cable. Since we only had one Charter service (Internet) I was paying a little more not having cable. To try and lessen the change and dislike of cable, we opted for digital cable with more channel options, the ability to have a tv guide who ever thought going to a certain channel to sit and wait to see what is coming on was a good idea?!? and pay per view, etc... We basically had the service for a week and HATED it!! It was horrible. One thing after another. I wasn't saving money. The sound changed on our tv. The box made horrible noises. The box didn't work. We went through 2 different boxes in one month. And Charter has the worst customer service. Ever. When I had to call about our 2nd box messing up I ended up just canceling my service. Made a quick call to Directv and set up new service. I ended up with a better package than what we had before for the same money!



Our new service included DVR. Something I never really gave much thought to. I am getting to were I watch less and less tv, but DVR has totally changed that! I love that I just record my favorite show and watch it later. No more annoying commercials and time wasted. No more channel flip flopping while 2 favorite shows are on at the same time. It's probably one of the best things ever invented.



Right now on my DVR list:



John&Kate Plus 8 - I don't know how long that will last. The show just isn't the same. : (



The Rachel Zoe Project - Love her!



Toddlers & Tiaras - I think this show is hilarious. Pageant moms are the best! : )



Desperate Housewives of Atlanta - Orange County is my fav though.



Any Lifetime movie that catches my eye



Clearly I am a big fan of reality tv. I have never been one for sitcoms. Weird I know.

Couldn't Resist...

I really should stop receiving emails from places like Old Navy, Target, Gap and all the other clothing stores. They are always offering something that I can't resist. I am not a shop-o-holic by no means. Chad may say otherwise, but I am really not. And deep down he know how I am with money! : )

So yesterday I got an email free Old Navy offering free shipping. I have been eying a pair of flats so I thought it was the perfect time to order them...and a few more items!







The shoes. They also come in silver. If they are a go, I am sure I will need the silver pair too.





This cute little dress. I am usually not a big dress or skirt girl, but lately I have become one. It's so easy to just throw a dress on and go.



And I couldn't forget Olivia. I thought these shoes were adorable.

I am so excited to finally use a photographer that I have been wanting to use since Olivia was born. She has some great ideas and takes beautiful pictures. Check her out.
