Tha' Funk

I'm in a funk. There I said it. I have been MIA for a little over a month. I have a lot to say, but I just don't take the time to share it. Maybe it's because I so behind on everything. Sigh.
Our life has been crazy. Seriously, this is the end of November. What in the world?!? I think time goes by a whole lot faster when you have kids. Which is so not far!
So what has been going on?

I had my wisdom teeth removed Thursday. Not. Fun. Really it's more of an annoyance than anything.

Olivia had her first sick doctor visit Wednesday. She woke up with a high fever that morning and I knew that she just did not feel well. I am not one to run to the doctor for everything, but when her temperature was 103.4. I knew it was time to make the call. Turns out she just had the gunk (cold symptoms) on top of both sets of molars trying to come through. She is fine now. Just waitin' on those teeth to come on in!

I have been getting things lined up to start back to school in the Spring. I am a little nervous, but very excited and anxious.

I have not one Christmas decoration up in my house. I am just not really feeling it right now. I think maybe if it weren't such a big ordeal with getting the tree down, and all the decorations and the fact that our tree is really way too BIG for our living room. Why did we not take that thing back?!?

Me, Carmen and Jordan watched The Blind Side after church yesterday. It was a great movie. I would defiantly watch it again. Forget the Twilight silliness.

It's true. I am not a fan of Twilight. I have no desire to watch any of the movies or read the books. I think it's a little weird people are in love with vampires. I have never been infatuated with stuff like that. Like actors/actresses/movies/bands/etc...I just think it's too much. Maybe I'm the weirdo....I am okay with that.

We aren't having Thanksgiving this year. Well...not our normal family get together Thanksgiving. This year our church is having Operation Thanksgiving. We will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 11-2 for the less fortunate in the community. The church has been in contact with a couple of agencies in the community and say we should expect hundreds! I am very excited about it. I think it's a wonderful outreach for our church and community. This is what Thanksgiving and Christmas is really all about.

Some of us girls from church went to the Color Palette in town for a Christmas Painting. It was a lot of fun. Even if my face was still a little puffy! : )
Sorry for the bad quality. I took this with my phone. I guess you could say this is the only Christmas thing I have in my house right now. And it's not even really displayed. I just propped it up on the end table just so I could get it out of the car.

And here's a picture of my sweet girl at Gammy's (Carmen) birthday party. She loves inflatables!!

Hope everyone has a great week and wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Busy-ness

*Edited to add* My layout is the cause for the cropped pictures. Sorry. Hopefully I will get it fixed soon.

Busy, busy, busy!!! I haven't had much time for blogging lately. I had a post I was working on and never got to finish and I haven't made anymore attempts to finish it. There has just been too much going on lately. Untill I get back into the swing of regular posting here are a few pictures from the past couple of weekends.

Life in Pictures

I have not had much time for anything on the computer lately....I have had several things I want to post, but there's just not a enough time in the day to do everything I need or want to get done.
So here's some pictures from the weekend and a few from this week.

Friday night (last Friday night)-The 3 of us headed to Target. First we had supper at Cracker Barrel, Chad's favorite. It never fails, he always orders Mama's French Toast, ham and eggs sunny side up! Then we went to Target. We ♥ Target!! We ended up only shopping for none other than Olivia. : )

I was going to post pics, but I am not finding any of the online and I am tired of looking. I do however, love this dress, but didn't get it because I was having a hard time deciding what shoes would go with it.

I think I am going back to get it, because it's just too cute and it's only 10$!! You can't beat that!

Saturday- Me & Chad went to the Alabama/Arkansas game. It poured down rain the whole way to Tuscaloosa. I was not really looking forward to getting get drenched. Luckily we had parking passes for a deck only a block away from the stadium, so it was real bad. By the time we got to the stadium and made it to our seats (which were covered) the rain stopped!! It turned out to be a perfect day and Alabama won! We had a lot of fun. I hadn't been to a game in a long time.

Decked out in our rain gear.

Pouring down

Spell it out!

8$ Banana Pudding!! No, thank you!

Sunday was our Sunday school class get together. We had an 80's skate party at the local skating ring. It was sooo much fun!! I forgot how much I actually like to skate. It's good exercise too! : )

I think the pictures are so special that it needs it's own post. You will just have to come back to see them!!

Pictures with Amy

Hello. I have been somewhat MIA. It's been a busy week. People have been requesting posting. They are upset when they visit and there is no new post! I want to know all these other mysterious people. If you read, why don't you comment? It's okay to leave some feedback every now and then. You can leave a comment even you don't have an account... : )

So last week I mentioned that we were having family picture/birthday pics made.
Oh. My. Word. They are awesome!! Amy did a fantastic job, just like I knew she would. I have been looking at her work ever since I was pregnant. She is very talented and Olivia took right to her.

The one thing I hate about having pictures made is deciding which ones to get and in what size and then it usually takes me for-ever to have them framed and then decide where I will hang them. And actually the only pictures I have up are her three month pictures. Sigh. It's just so hard to get everything done. And I am so bad about putting stuff off and then well...now she is 1 and I don't even have six month old pictures printed! BUT I did have them made and I have the CD!! : ) Oh well....such is life.

Let me know what you think. For real people. Leave comments. : )

If you're in my area and need or want some awesome pictures call Amy! Tell her I sent you. ; )

Halloween in September

I may be a little early and will possibly change my mind before it's all said and done BUT I think I have found Olivia's Halloween costume for this year.

This year should be lots of fun since she can walk around and interact.

Here she is last year as a ladybug.

Couldn't Resist...

I really should stop receiving emails from places like Old Navy, Target, Gap and all the other clothing stores. They are always offering something that I can't resist. I am not a shop-o-holic by no means. Chad may say otherwise, but I am really not. And deep down he know how I am with money! : )

So yesterday I got an email free Old Navy offering free shipping. I have been eying a pair of flats so I thought it was the perfect time to order them...and a few more items!

The shoes. They also come in silver. If they are a go, I am sure I will need the silver pair too.

This cute little dress. I am usually not a big dress or skirt girl, but lately I have become one. It's so easy to just throw a dress on and go.

And I couldn't forget Olivia. I thought these shoes were adorable.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Mine is flying by. They always seem to though. We are having pictures made Friday. I hope the weather cooperates. I am so excited to finally use a photographer that I have been wanting to use since Olivia was born. She has some great ideas and takes beautiful pictures. Check her out.

Birthday Pictures

These are so not in order & I really don't feel like messing with them. I am just glad I finally have them posted. Well-most of them, anyway.

She loved the outfit. Thank you Ms. Carmen!

Aunt Sarah writing a little note to Olivia. This is the frame I had made at Hobby Lobby. I love it!

I displayed pictures of Olivia from my pregnancy, sonar and one picture for every month.

Her high chair.

The picture.

The cakes. Yum!

Strange Occurrence

After Olivia was born and my mom went through printing pictures she took of the delivery and all the family & friends taking turns holding Olivia. She came across the picture on the left. Me, Chad & Olivia just posing for a picture. She then remember a very similar picture of her, my dad and me when I was born. When she brought over her copies of pictures she had her picture on the very top and then the one of me and Chad.

I couldn't believe that it was almost the exact picture. What's even weirder is that my dad and Chad are not big into wearing ball caps. So the fact that they are both wearing a hat is strange in itself.

I think this is a great testament to our family. Having parents that are still together and going strong is a pretty rare occurrence these days. I am so thankful for the foundation my parents have laid for me. Having a child really shows you me just how much they really love and care for me.

I have close to 300 pictures from the big birthday party. Which means it will take me awhile to put a few on here and anywhere else. Hopefully she won't be 2 before I get them printed! : D I think that has to be the worst thing about a digital camera. Most of the pictures I take I just save to my computer. I need to get with it about getting pictures printed and put into albums! If only there were enough hours in the day...

For now I will post one picture. A little teaser, if you will.

Olivia & friends gathered round to open gifts.

Olivia LOVES her new chair. I am so glad that we got it. It should last her a long time.

365 days...

A year ago today at 9:19pm our life changed forever!

I will be honest, I had a lot of mixed emotions about being a mom. I didn't know if I could really handle it. I am not a huge fan of kids. They some time annoy me. I love the baby/toddler stage then it pretty much just kind of down hill from there. I mean it wasn't an absolute hate or anything like that. It's just some kids would just "touch a nerve."

I always knew I wanted to be a mother, but was a little worried about how I would handle it. I was nervous. Could I really love someone at an instance?

The instance I layed my eyes on her it was love. Just to think that God blessed me & Chad with such a precious gift that we are so undeserving of is lots and lots of love in itself. The blog world has really opened my eyes to how blessed we are and how much we take for granted.

This past year has went by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday I was getting married and now I have a One Year old...it's crazy how fast time goes by. Especially when your an adult. : )

When I think of Olivia she just melts my heart. She is the sweetest, most loving, outgoing, funniest little girl. She has been the best baby ever! I hope & pray she is not just tricking us into another baby! ; )

She is the beat in our step and the light of our lives. I don't know what we would do without her or what we ever did before her!

I LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!!
PS-The birthday party was great! Everything turned out wonderful, but it was a lot of work! I will post pictures soon!

Because I want to...

post just a picture
Love it!!

Thank you Megan!!

A New Look

Do you notice anything different? Well, if you have stopped by before you will have noticed that I got a blog makeover! I have been playing around with the idea for awhile now, but didn't really want to spend a crazy amount of money on my blog. It's not like I am making money with this. This is just an easier way for me to keep up with our day to day life, all the fun things Olivia is into and whatever else crosses my mind. : )

When I saw that Leslie was having a blog makeover giveaway I jumped on the chance to enter and surprisingly won!! I think she did a great job especially working with me and even better she is from AL!! If you are interested in a makeover you should take a look at her custom blog design site.

In other news. We had a great weekend getaway to the beach. We went with 3 other couples and had lots of fun. The weather was nice Friday but overcast Saturday & Sunday. Is it just me or does everyone else think you can still work on your tan even if it is overcast? My brain just can't wrap around that. If the sun is not beating down on me and I sweating up a storm I don't feel like I am getting a tan.

This weekend is Olivia's 1st Birthday party! I have had 2 dreams about the party this week. Both dreams involve me not being there or not making it in time! : ( What's up with that?!?

Tonight me & my mom are going to pick up one of her gifts.

Her very own chair! I think these chairs are the cutest thing ever and have wanted one before I was even pregnant! :D

I have everything just about ready for Saturday. Just a few small last minute things left. I still haven't decided on party favors. Does anyone have any ideas other than candy bags? I want to do something cute and simple.

Growing Up...

Singing me a song.

And she's out. The car always puts her to sleep.

We were chit chatting.

She's growing way too fast.

Little toesies.

Help!! My little girl is growing up way to fast!

These pictures (when posted) don't have the same quality. They aren't as clear. Any guesses as to why?
