2010

We are half way through the year and this is my first post. I have stunk it up BIG time with blogging. I just didn't really care to post stuff anymore and a little bit of a lack of time.

So much has happened since, uhm...Christmas. Where do I begin??

I went back to school in January, taking a A&P 1 class at nights and Human Growth & Development on Fridays.

I applied to nursing school.

Chad turned 27.

Went to the beach for a week!

We converted Olivia's bed to a toddler bed. My baby is growing up way to fast!

I got laid off from my job on May 25th. The only job I have ever had. I started working there when I was a senior in high school! It was a mixture of emotions, but God had BIGGER plans for me!

I started summer class-A&P 2.

I GOT ACCEPTED INTO NURSING SCHOOL!!! : )

I turned 24.

Got the new Iphone 4.

I had my first ever yard sale. I made over $500 and I am still selling stuff!

I applied for unemployment and WIA. : /

Chad got a new truck!

Mom turned 50!

And the list goes on and on....

God has truly blessed me. There are so many times in the past couple of years where I have doubted him and was so frustrated with the direction my life was headed (career wise). I was so unhappy with my job. I had been for sometime. I don't know how many times I drove home crying, mad, hurt, frustrated and just plain hating that place. No, it wasn't all bad, but it wasn't what I wanted to do the rest of my life and I was not happy or satisfied. I wasn't fulfilled.
I tried a couple of times of getting a job closer to home, but it just never worked out. I would just always settle and stay where I was. Praying God would open the doors in my life and that he would lead me to where I needed to be.

Getting laid off was totally unexpected (to an extent). I worked for a real estate development management company. They build and manage apartment homes. I was let go simply because work was slow and they were cutting back. At first I was somewhat upset, but who wouldn't want to be off for the summer?!? : ) I received a severance that would cover me for the summer and if things worked out with school, I would've been leaving in the fall anyway. It was great!
BUT then I got scared and started doubting. What if I don't get in nursing school? What am I going to do??

I was accepted into nursing school. Something I have thought about for at least 4 years now. I have prayed and prayed and know that this is what I am supposed to be doing. The program is not cheap! I thought surely I would get help from pell grant since I was unemployed, but that was a far fetch! I really don't understand how they come up with who they help and who they don't. It's a joke.

So there I was looking for a $10,000 loan for a two year program. Not fun. I was at my mom's office one day faxing a loan application, when one of the girls told me about a program through the Career Center (Unemployment Office). I hadn't filed for unemployment since I didn't need it and hadn't really thought about it. I thought I would go down there and see if, maybe, I qualified.

The way it was explained to me...WIA is program funded by the state. There are two pots of money. One for adults who have lost their job and are going back to school. The other is just adults going back to school and need help paying for tuition.
I filled out an app, had to apply for unemployment, took a test, wrote an essay, and waited and waited.

I got the call last week. I got accepted!!!!!! WIA is covering all of tuition, fees and books!!!! ALL OF IT!!! I was THRILLED!!! Another door open. God is GOOD!! He is FAITHFUL!!

I know he has his hand on me and is guiding me through this new chapter in my life.

Thank You for Your Help!!

Thank you for all the suggestions. The last shoe was my favorite too. The only down fall was that I couldn't find it in any stores. I really like to try shoes on before purchasing them if at all possible. I hadn't been able to do a whole lot of searching for shoes so on Saturday (after the Susan G. Komen race for a cure) me and mom went searching!


I ended getting a pair at my first stop DSW. They had to options with a 10$ difference and I happened to like the cheaper pair. : )


I must admit they are kind of funny looking, but when on they look cute. And after looking at about 10 other places it's the only shoes I could find!

They go with the dress perfectly!

Now, I am just hoping and praying it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to have the dress altered!!

I Need Your Help!

I am in a wedding at the end of the month. It's set for outside and I am having a hard time with what shoe to wear with our dresses. The bride doesn't really care what we get. She suggested something with silver tones.

I found these a long time ago when we talked about getting dyeable shoes.

I have a thing for bows. BUT we aren't doing dyeable shoes and these were 115$!!

I like this shoe minus the little crown thing. Looks like you can take it off. These are 65$.





What do you think about the color? I am kind of leaning toward this color. I am not sure how silver tone would look?

I just found the above shoe on a different website for 10$ cheaper!! It might be a sign!

His Word is Living!!

Sorry for my post-less week. It has been crazy around here. My fellow co-worker Charlene is on vacation this week and I am her back up. Charlene, would it be okay if you never go on vacation again? : )

It hasn't really been that bad. And I would also like Charlene and who ever else who reads this to know that I have been getting to work by 8:30! That is pretty huge for me. My normal hours are 9-9:30.



Enough of that. What I really came here to talk about is a lot better. : )



I am have been a follower of Angie's blog Bring the Rain for some time. She is wonderful and has an amazing story. If you are ever having a downer day she will totally turn that around! Well a couple of months ago (I am not really sure when) she had mentioned that she and her family took in a mom, "C", and her two small daughters. She couldn't give a lot of details, but just asked that everyone remember them in their prayers. So yesterday I was checking out my google reader and noticed a posts from Angie entitled, Meet C. She was basically letting everyone know that C now has her own blog and is sharing her story. I headed over to her blog to see what her story was all about. I was quickly moved by her story. The whole time I was reading I really felt God telling me I had to share this story with a friend.



So, I start a new message and begin explaining all these blogs and giving a little background information and start to spill my heart....for the most part. Honestly, I really didn't know what to say. I just knew that she needed to hear/read this woman's story and know that there is hope. You see when we feel like we have reached our rock bottom and that no one cares, Jesus is still there waiting on us.



I ended the email with a scripture that I have read a couple of times and thought it would "sound good." At first I didn't give a whole lot of thought to it, but He had other plans. I had planned on just sharing Ephesians 3:20, but something told me to read the verses before 20.



For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to gasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.



Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we all ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!!





Uhm...Hello God, you have my full attention!! : )

I have never felt his presence so strongly. I don't know what it was, but that was just as much for me as it were for my friend.



Lately, I have been struggling a lot with the direction my life is going spiritually. I really feel like God is doing a new thing in my life like never before. Yesterday God really opened my eyes to that. I don't want to be preachy, but it's time for change. It's time to put the worldly and foolish things behind. He wants more from us. He wants us. We only have to acknowledge him and let him in to work in us and through us. When we get rid of all the other "stuff" God will step in and take control, and well...HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!!







God, Thank you for being so faithful, even when I am not.

I ♥ DVR

Early this Summer I was trying to save a few pennies and changed my cable provider, leaving our beloved Directv to go back to Charter cable. Since we only had one Charter service (Internet) I was paying a little more not having cable. To try and lessen the change and dislike of cable, we opted for digital cable with more channel options, the ability to have a tv guide who ever thought going to a certain channel to sit and wait to see what is coming on was a good idea?!? and pay per view, etc... We basically had the service for a week and HATED it!! It was horrible. One thing after another. I wasn't saving money. The sound changed on our tv. The box made horrible noises. The box didn't work. We went through 2 different boxes in one month. And Charter has the worst customer service. Ever. When I had to call about our 2nd box messing up I ended up just canceling my service. Made a quick call to Directv and set up new service. I ended up with a better package than what we had before for the same money!



Our new service included DVR. Something I never really gave much thought to. I am getting to were I watch less and less tv, but DVR has totally changed that! I love that I just record my favorite show and watch it later. No more annoying commercials and time wasted. No more channel flip flopping while 2 favorite shows are on at the same time. It's probably one of the best things ever invented.

John&Kate Plus 8 - I don't know how long that will last. The show just isn't the same. : (

Toddlers & Tiaras - I think this show is hilarious. Pageant moms are the best! : )

Clearly I am a big fan of reality tv. I have never been one for sitcoms. Weird I know.

Couldn't Resist...

I really should stop receiving emails from places like Old Navy, Target, Gap and all the other clothing stores. They are always offering something that I can't resist. I am not a shop-o-holic by no means. Chad may say otherwise, but I am really not. And deep down he know how I am with money! : )

So yesterday I got an email free Old Navy offering free shipping. I have been eying a pair of flats so I thought it was the perfect time to order them...and a few more items!







The shoes. They also come in silver. If they are a go, I am sure I will need the silver pair too.





This cute little dress. I am usually not a big dress or skirt girl, but lately I have become one. It's so easy to just throw a dress on and go.



And I couldn't forget Olivia. I thought these shoes were adorable.





Hope everyone is having a great week! Mine is flying by. They always seem to though. We are having pictures made Friday. I hope the weather cooperates. I am so excited to finally use a photographer that I have been wanting to use since Olivia was born. She has some great ideas and takes beautiful pictures. Check her out.

Weekly Writing Assignment: Favorite Things

In this week's weekly writing assignment at Mama Kat's one of the prompts was to list your favorite things IF you were to have a giveaway. My list of course is totally random, but that's how I roll! : ) These will be in no particular order.

I have this exact wristlet & love it! A lot of times I carry this instead of a purse. It's great for the diaper bag too!






Cover Girl's Aqua Smoother Tinted Moisturizer.




I just discovered this product a few weeks ago when I decided to start a skin care regimen. I have vowed to start washing my face every night and start using moisturizer (no I don't wear this at night) but this is great! It has just enough coverage and lasts all day!







A pair of pearl earrings.



I wear pearl earrings every. single. day. I feel naked without them. I am trying to break out a little and try "dangley" earrings but I will never phase the pearls out! Every girl needs a pair!

Not to long ago I had a bra fitting which brought me to the sad conclusion that I have small "ta-tas" : )
I mean...I already knew, but this time I had someone tell me and that I was also wearing the wrong bra size!
I also learned that I needed a lingerie bag. And Tide makes a pretty good one for under 10$.
No more wires poking out for me!






Sally Henson's Nail Pen



I am not one to paint my nails. I think it looks good on other people, but not me. I can never just paint my nails and not get polish on the sides of my skin. A girl in my office told me about these pens and when I was in the lovely WalMart this week I picked one up.
I went with the light pink color on the end.
It was a hit!!
Maybe I will be brave and try the bright red color this fall.

I love Yellow Box!
I think I own at least 20 pair of their flip flops & sandals. They are so comfortable, affordable and stylish. They go with everything.
Everyone needs at least one pair.

The Line Up

Dancing with the Stars has become one of my tv favorites. A lot of nights I don't get to watch much tv, but now that we have DVR I won't miss a show!!

The stars have been announced and I think it's going to be an interesting season. Here are a few of my favorites.

I have always like Melissa J. Hart ever since Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I hope she does well.



Kelly Osbourne



I am interested to see how she does with some of the dances. I have always kind of liked her.

I haven't seen anything about her in awhile. I think she is gorgeous!

Now maybe Chad won't complain so much since there is someone he likes in the line up!


What do you think about the stars this year? Who are your favorites? I was somewhat surprised to see a politician (Tom DeLay) in the line up & there were a few celebs that I don't know.

Tha' Funk

I feel like I am in a funk right now. I am calling it out. I know that I am. The bad thing is I don't even really know why. I am just kind of blah.... I am sure I am not the only one who goes through a funk. I just don't feel like dealing with stuff. I just want to be. Whatever.
I feel like I am at this stage in my life where I need to make some changes.

No. No. No...not bad changes. Just an "enhanced" version of me.
Like maybe care a little bit more about my appearance. I have never been a sloucher, but I think I could step it up a little bit. Maybe step outside my norm.

Work on my time management skills. This is a HUGE change that I need to make ASAP. I have really bad issues with being on time. Seriously, Mr would probably like to strangle me if I am late one more time for church. It's not good. And ya know the bad thing? I hate to be late. Is that the stupidest thing you have heard today? If it is. So be it...at least I own up to it. : D

I would like to know if I am the only one who struggles with being on time. I think it's because I try to do to many other things while trying to get ready. Like load or unload the dishwasher. Put a load of clothes on to wash. Put a load in the dryer. Pick up toys in the living room. Take the garbage to the road.

While working on my time management skills I need to work on my organizational skills. I am not all over the place, but things could be better. Like having my clothes laid out and ironed before going to bed. Having Olivia's things packed and ready to go. Not rushing around doing those things in the mornings.


It's time I get a hold of myself and get with it! : D

Changes

I hate change. Especially if it's something I really like and am used to, but sometimes change is necessary. Very necessary in this case. What's the change you ask?


I Got a New Hairstylist!!

Pretty lame, I know, but you don't understand. I started having major issues with my previous stylists which I tried to ignore because I LOVED the way she did my hair. I have people on a weekly basis ask me who does my hair...total strangers who are not even familiar with where I live.

The last time I had a problem should have been the last, but I went back and she apologized, and cut my hair for FREE. Of course I had to wait an hour for her to even cut my hair.

My last appointment was around Easter so I am way over due for a cut. I call her Friday afternoon (around 2) to see if she had any openings. She didn't answer. I left a voicemail. By 4 o' clock I hadn't heard from her so I sent her a text. Letting her know I needed a cut really bad and did she have anything open. She didn't reply until 6:30. Saying she wasn't working Saturday, but would get with me on Monday...have a good weekend...blah blah.

Monday rolls around and I hadn't thought much about it since I was pretty busy at work. I send her a text around 2 o' clock to just touch base. Monday comes to an end with no return text or call. I was officially done!

Tuesday morning I made an appointment with a woman who used to cut my hair several years ago. She was just starting out and I was still in high school. She is now at a new salon in town and is more... I guess you would say... it is one of the more popular current salons. I am a little surprised that my old girl hasn't went there.

Tuesday afternoon "old girl" sends me a text asking if 4:30 on Friday would work? I wanted to just ignore it, but on the other hand wanted her to know that she has horrible business and time management skills I found someone who can work with my schedule better and actually calls people back!!!! I did tell her that I appreciated her getting back with me, but I found someone else. Thank you!
The End.

I haven't heard back from her. I really hope she didn't think I was being ugly. I wasn't. I have told her over and over that I LOVE the way she cuts&styles my hair. I even sent her new customers! I didn't want to find someone else, but I can't wait and wait for a call or text back and then wait and wait to get a cut. My time is valuable and I don't have time for that!

It looks like my new girl is on top of things. I received a confirmation call this morning for my appointment tomorrow! Yay for call backs! : )

I am debating on taking Olivia with me for her to get a little trim. I am not sure if I am ready for it and honestly I need someone to go with me and no one is really available tomorrow. We will see...

The story of my life...

Warning: This is very long and detailed. Sorry for the longest post in my history.


Today is Thursday. Which means it's my Friday. And I couldn't be more happier. This week is VBS at church and it is wearing me out. I leave work, go straight to church, leave church around 8:45, drop off the stupid mail at our other office, pick up Olivia at my moms, get home around 9 or 9:15, get her ready for bed and then try to do a few things in the house. Uh...that made me tired just typing it out! My house is a disaster/clothes need to put away that have been sitting in the clothes basket going on 2 weeks / need to wash more clothes/ the pool that we have not even swam in needs attention/ we need groceries/ grass needs to be cut/ and basically my house needs a total over haul, like yesterday! Oh and while I'm at it...I hate (yest HATE) Charter. I don't know how they even have customers and no wonder they are bankrupt. Their service is horrible! And if I have to call them one more time (or they call me) I might have a come-a-part!

I need just one more issue that I have to handle. Seriously, this isn't even everything that I am dealing with right now. When it rains it pours. I know these are by no means end of the world/ life altering problems, but gee....Can I catch a break?!? PLEASE!!

So, I guess my biggest issue at hand would be my job. You might remember a recent post about a horrible day I had at work. I didn't and don't give a lot of details about my job, because A) People I work with could read this. B) It could bite my in the tail. BUT why do you have to sensor something that you do on your personal time?!? I don't name drop and I am certainly not making up the stuff I say. I haven't even gave specific details. If you read this (who ever you are) and you have problems with what I am about to say or have said in the past or may say in the future. Then maybe you need to step up, be real, and make some changes!

Here's a little background on my job. (Like this post could get any longer) I have worked with "The Best Company Ever, Inc" : D since I was a senior in high school, going on 6 years. They have 2 offices, one in my home town and a larger, more corporate, office in Birmingham. When I started out, I worked with the family (the original owners. Two men, brother-in-laws, in their late 80s). I was basically their personal assistant. I managed their money, paid their bills, took them places, you name it I did it. I started going to Birmingham to help out in the summers, which later turned into 3 days a week. Then I graduated college and they wanted me to work full time in Birmingham. I agreed. The money was nice, I didn't know what I wanted to do after college ( I only had my associates degree and didn't know what direction I wanted to go after that.) I had nothing holding me back. Why not? It's not really that bad of a drive.

So...Here I am now....t-r-a-p-p-e-d. I have mixed emotions about leaving since this is the only thing I know. I have history here. People ask me questions. I make decent money (more than working at a bank or just some other random job, especially in my home town). I work four days a week. I usually work any from 9 or 9:30 to 4:30 (some days later). Basically, I do what I want to do, but I get my work done. I am accountable, dependable, trustworthy, always HERE (unlike some most people in our office). Besides taking a vacation (that we just took and was only 4 days, since I don't work on Fridays anyway,) I have only missed ONE. DAY. THIS. WHOLE. YEAR. It was in January. I got food poison from Taco Bell and it was horrible! I actually felt guilty for not coming to work. How crazy is that?!?
I know, you're probably thinking, "she is crazy, she has it made." But there is a whole lot of other stuff I could share, that I am not, because this post is already long enough, and by now no one is probably even reading this.
But I am tired of driving back and forth. I want to go back to school and I will never be able to do that working in Birmingham. And I work with a real inconsiderate person and I have had enough. And that is putting it real nice!

I recently had a really good interview with a very nice man at a company similar to where I work now, met his wife and son (who work with him), met with him for over an hour, he walked me out to my car. I thought it was in the bag. NO. SUCH. LUCK. It was nothing against me. He said I was wonderful and thought highly of me, but he wasn't going to hire anyone right now. He was/is having issues with someone in his office and was going to let them go and when they got word that he was looking and interviewing they straightened up. I have some connections from my MIL who helped/ and told me about him looking for someone so I know a little bit more about what is going on than, just some random person.
I am so frustrated, overwhelmed and tired of being told no. Why can't I find something? Obviously it's not the best of times to be looking for a job, but is every body struggling? I did send Mr. Nice Man (the man I interviewed with) an email this morning letting him know that I appreciated the opportunity to interview with him and hoped he would keep me in mind if something becomes available in the future.Maybe it will work out or maybe he will pass my name on to someone else...

So there you have it. Well, most of it anyway. I don't know what's going to happen in the future. I am just praying that God will open the doors in my life. He knows my desires and he knows my current job situation. I know He will see my through this small phase in my life. I just have to give it to him and he will take care of the rest. I have used this quote before and here it is again.



" When God leads you to the edge of a cliff, trust HIM fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall or He'll teach you how to fly!!!"
One more thing. I promise. If one more person ask the question, "I thought you were a nurse?" I might throw up. Not really, but I want to. I always laugh and reply with, "no, but I want to be!"

Happy Birthday & The Fairly Odd Couple

Today is my 23rd Birthday. Woohoo....it really is just another day. I mean after you turn 16 birthdays don't really matter. Well, maybe 18 or 20 and 21 if you drink, but I don't so that wasn't a biggy. Anyway...I didn't do anything special today. It's mid week and I had to work and we went to church. My mom made me a strawberry/angel food/pudding/cool whip dessert. It's really good. Bottom layer angel food cake pieces then pudding and strawberries. You can usually make two or three layers.
I am going to get a camera...a real camera. I hope to go Friday, but that might change. So that is a pretty nice gift. And I think I have more money than what I need so that is even better!

So Chad did get me a birthday card. And it was pretty funny and it was even more funny that he was somewhat excited about it. We usually always do silly cards. And this is what his card said...

There are two reasons why I want to be with you on your Birthday:
1. I Love You.

And I don't think I will share what he wrote to me. But he did sign it Mr. If you don't know us, then you have no clue why I call Chad Mr. And honestly, I don't know how it really started, but it stuck. Big. Time. So much so that he calls me Misty because I pronounce Mr (Mister). And if it's not Misty it's Buddy. People even joke that they can't wait for Olivia to start calling him Mister!
But that is just us. We are not the lovey dovey baby, honey, sweetie type people. And that is okay with us!

On another note. I still haven't finished posting beach pictures and I pretty much think Olivia is now a walker. Last night while I was running her bath water she walked out of the bathroom, into the hall and into the doorway leading into our bedroom. The most steps she has ever took! It was so funny I was walked in and saw her just walking out of the bathroom. I just started laughing....It doesn't look like she should be walking. I still haven't put it on video. I am such a slacker.
Well...Mister is in bed waiting on me. Why do men think we have to be in there if they are?

Growing Pains

The older I get the more I realize it wasn't so bad living at home with mom and dad, working a little here and there not really having to,focusing on school, basically having all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted to do. Life was so easy, but I couldn't wait to grow up/have my own house/my rules/my own money and still do whatever I wanted to do. What was I thinking??? I had it made! I know everyone has heard the saying that "heinsight is 20/20," and that is so true. You really don't know what you had until you don't have it anymore.

NOW-don't be over thinking these thoughts. I love my family with all that I am and I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for Chad & Olivia. It's just being an adult isn't always fun. And things don't always go as planned and LIFE. HAPPENS. And today was a BAD day. AND my job IS. NOT. MY. LIFE. It is not what I want to do or will do for the rest of my life. It's just a job! I just feel so unfulfilled with what I do four days a week and know in my heart it is not what I am supposed to be doing.

That is the biggest thing that I wish I could change. I wish I would have been more focused in college and a degree...that I actually use. I know, I know...I can go back and I am going back, but it would've been a whole lot easier the first time. Like when I didn't have to work/a husband to feed/a baby to take care of/a house to clean/bills to pay/problems to solve/and I could go on and on. I guess it will just make me more determined and serious this time around.


This is not the way I intended for this post to go. I mean...yes, I did have a bad day today at work, but that is just part of it and being an adult. That was the point I was trying to make. How it got to this, I don't know, but it doesn't matter! This is ME, and if you actually know me, then you already knew this. And this sounds really corny, but it felt good to let that out!

I have so many to choose from. I am a very avid sleep walking/talking sleeper. My husband is very thankful! I have so many to choose from and I can't believe I am going to admit to it. Most of the time I don't even remember doing/saying these crazy things. I don't do stuff like this every night. Only when I am very very tired.

I think the most memorable sleep walking/talking story I have is when I was probably 11-13 years old. I can't really remember how old I was. I was young enough that my sister still played with barbie dolls. When we first moved to The Best Town Ever, AL me and Sarah shared a bedroom. My room which was in the basement wasn't finished yet. So Sarah had this My Size Barbie doll. She stood on a small platform with rollers. Sarah played with that thing all the time. Most of the time it stayed in a corner in our bedroom. Yeah...you know where I am going. Well I guess I was having a very tired night one night. I don't remember all the details, but I just remember standing there carrying on this long conversation and wondering why no one was answering me or talking back. I finally came to my senses woke up and realize I am standing there talking to BARBIE!!

I felt beyond stupid and couldn't believe I had just done that! I just went back to bed and hoped no one heard that very important conversation I had with Barbie.

Quickie

Haven't had to much time for blogging lately. We are some serious softball players right now. It basically takes up our whole week. Me & Chad both have games every Tuesday&Thursday nights. This week it will be Mon, Tues, Thurs, then church on Wednesday night and then Friday night our church is having a concert(Ohio Avenue, Yungtown & Joy Lipparo). Chad is taking a day off to help get everything set up and ready to go.
We keep trying to plan a trip to the Zoo, but it rains or chance of rain almost every weekend. We were planning to go this Saturday, but it was supposed to rain. We should have just went, because it never really did anything. Are weekends are getting filled up quick and before we know it, it will be time for the BEACH!! I am so excited. We can't wait.

I had a great first mother's day. We all went to church with my grandmother. She was thrilled that everyone was able to go to church with her. Chad got me a new ring. It's Olivia's birthstone-Peridot- I don't have a picture of it on my hand, so the one for the internet will have to do.

I love it! And it just happens to be my most favorite color!!

In Olivia news she is trying her hardest to walk. She pulls up on everything in sight and now will stand up. She stood up the other night in the bath tub will Chad was giving her a bath. It's so funny to watch her facial expressions. Sometimes she gets a little scared when she realizes what she is doing. I think she will be walking before we go to the beach (end of June) if not then I know she will be before she is one.

WOJ Weekend

This past weekend was our Women of Joy trip in Sevierville, TN. We had a great time of worship/ fellowship/ shopping/ eating /and some crazy late night conversations that left me in tears! The speaker Friday night was Kirk Cameron. He did a really good job. I think everyone at the conference was infatuated by him. Did you know that he married Mike Seavers girlfriend? How crazy is that. They have six kids who are all ONE YEAR APART!!! All I have to say is WOW!!


The speaker Saturday morning was Priscilla Shirer. She is awesome. We just finished her bible study, so we all got a group picture with her.

The next speaker on Saturday was Carol Kent. She spoke about her son killing his wife's ex-husband. Needless to say her testimony is very powerful. Saturday was the Casting Crowns concert. Me and a few other girls didn't go, instead we went out to eat at Red Lobster took a very random trip to WalMart and rode the trolley.
Sunday morning speaker was Lisa Harper. She was very funny and down to earth.

So, this was the first time I had been away from Olivia and I missed her so bad! Every time I saw a baby it would make it even worse. Chad kept her all weekend with his mom watching her a couple of times. He would send me pictures of her throughout the day and what she wore to church Sunday. I was very surprised at his outfit of choice. It was a romper I bought at Cottontails Village that had elastic smocking at the neck with cute little strawberries. She hasn't even worn it yet, so I was a little surprised that he picked that outfit. Yes, Chad has called smocking elastic stuff...what a guy. Oh well, he might not know the name, but he can dress her. I think it's so sweet that he has opinion about what Olivia wears. He never minds when I come home with her a new dress/outfit/shoes or swimsuit (she now has 4), but will ask about something I bought for myself.

Dilemma

It was close to Valentines Day the last time I got my hair cut. I usually try to go on Fridays since I am off work. I made my appointment for one o clock to give me plenty of time to get me and Olivia ready. Stephanie told me that she didn't mind to keep Olivia while I went to get my hair cut. So I dropped Olivia off around 12:45 and headed to the beauty shop. As soon as I get there and sit down the girl at the desk tells me that Amanda is running behind and it will be at least 45 minutes. I told that was fine. I would just leave and come back. So, I went back to Stephanie's house (which is not to far from the beauty shop) and watched the girl while she made a quick trip to the bank. By the time she got back and we messed around with Paige and Olivia it was close to 2 o clock. I figured it had been enough time, so I made my way back to the salon. I walked in and the girl at the front told me that Amanda was finishing up and it would only be a few more minutes. I said okay and sat down. Well....I sat there and sat there and keeping looking around the corner at her station. Finally Amanda was finished with the older woman but the woman wasn't done playing with her own hair! By now it was oh 2:15 and I was ill. I end up just walking out. I was so mad!! Amanda never said anything to me the whole time I was there. I just thought it was very unprofessional and rude. I don't have all day to sit and wait to get my hair cut!
I ended up going to a friend to get my hair cut. She did really good, but it wasn't quit the same. Well about 2 or 3 weeks after this happened I get a random phone call from Amanda's mom calling all her clients. She has left this certain beauty shop and is going out on her own. I told her mom my situation and that I was very upset, because I loved the way Amanda did my hair and that you can just tell that is what she loves to do. She would get so excited when fixing my hair. Her mom goes on to tell me that she had a note out by my name to please explain...So it looks like she was having issues at this salon.

Finally-Here we are today. I called her this afternoon to see about getting a cut this week. I called her around 1:30 and she apologized for what happened last time and that she was having issue at the other place. I told her that I understood. Anyway...she was getting lunch and said she would call me back in about 20 minutes after she got back to the shop to look at her appointment book. Well...Guess What??? It's now 4:42 and she still hasn't called me back!?!?! Ughhh....I could scream! I don't know I just have issues with people telling you they are going to do something and they don't!
I think I might just have to give up on her, but I really don't want to. Is that stupid or what?

A year ago today I took a pregnancy test (4 to be exact) and they were all positive. I was completely shocked, scared and just didn't know what to think. I could not believe that I was PREGNANT!! I was a little nervous about telling Chad. I mean we both talked about me not taking birth control anymore and knew that this was a possibility, but we just didn't know it would happen one month after quiting the medicine! He knew I was late and that I was pregnant. He just didn't say anything. I remember taking the last test at home (the others I took at our Jasper office...no one was there, except Stephanie) and I just sat it on the bathroom counter and told him to go look in the bathroom. He was looking around and thought I had changed something in the room. He finally glanced at the sink and noticed the test. He asked if it was mine! He's so crazy! And then asked if I was pregnant. He was so nervous, shocked and a little scared. He leaned against the end of the bed and said I gotta sit down for a minute. He immediately wanted to tell people, but I wanted to wait...We ended up telling him brothers and mom and later my parents. Moments I will never forget. For some strange reason I even remember what I was wearing!
Flash forward to 12-27-08. We have Olivia, a healthy beautiful 4 month and 2 day old baby girl. She is THE BEST EVER!!! I don't know what we would ever do without her. I am so thankful that God choose to bless us with her. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us with her.
