Before I was a Mom

To good not to share...

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body...
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

WOJ Weekend

This past weekend was our Women of Joy trip in Sevierville, TN. We had a great time of worship/ fellowship/ shopping/ eating /and some crazy late night conversations that left me in tears! The speaker Friday night was Kirk Cameron. He did a really good job. I think everyone at the conference was infatuated by him. Did you know that he married Mike Seavers girlfriend? How crazy is that. They have six kids who are all ONE YEAR APART!!! All I have to say is WOW!!

The speaker Saturday morning was Priscilla Shirer. She is awesome. We just finished her bible study, so we all got a group picture with her.
there were to many cameras....
The next speaker on Saturday was Carol Kent. She spoke about her son killing his wife's ex-husband. Needless to say her testimony is very powerful. Saturday was the Casting Crowns concert. Me and a few other girls didn't go, instead we went out to eat at Red Lobster took a very random trip to WalMart and rode the trolley.
Sunday morning speaker was Lisa Harper. She was very funny and down to earth.

So, this was the first time I had been away from Olivia and I missed her so bad! Every time I saw a baby it would make it even worse. Chad kept her all weekend with his mom watching her a couple of times. He would send me pictures of her throughout the day and what she wore to church Sunday. I was very surprised at his outfit of choice. It was a romper I bought at Cottontails Village that had elastic smocking at the neck with cute little strawberries. She hasn't even worn it yet, so I was a little surprised that he picked that outfit. Yes, Chad has called smocking elastic stuff...what a guy. Oh well, he might not know the name, but he can dress her. I think it's so sweet that he has opinion about what Olivia wears. He never minds when I come home with her a new dress/outfit/shoes or swimsuit (she now has 4), but will ask about something I bought for myself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hours later I am trying to wrap up this post. I don't really feel like typing anything else. I am calling it a night!
Why???
Who would ever buy this? And Why??
Is it just me or isn't this a bit much?
I know that I have blogged about this before, but I couldn't help post this picture.
I was looking at Etsy for some more bows for Olivia. I ordered 6 custom bows for $10 and free shipping! I thought that was a good buy. These are the bows we like.
Happy Eight Months!
I can't believe it has already been eight months. Time goes by way too fast.
What is miss Olivia up to these days?
She is crawling all over the place and pulling up on things. She loves to play on the dishwasher when I am loading/unloading the dishes.
She has two teeth. She talks all the time. She loves to say Dada and boy does he love it! She loves all baby foods. There is not much she won't eat. She still wears 6 month clothes. She loves to take a bath and has started taking showers with mommy. She is amazed by the shower head. She loves to go on walks with mommy in the stroller. She likes to shop. She is an all around happy baby.
We love her so much. It's funny how when you pregnant people always say, "Oh your life will never be the same and how a baby changes everything." Some people act like it's a death sentence or something. For us it's hard to imagine how life used to be. I couldn't imagine not having Olivia here with us today! She just fits right in!!
Here are a few pictures from this afternoon before we went shopping.
Don't you love the pink overalls? I think they are too cute!
Sunny Buns
Thursday night both me and Chad had softball games. He started supper and I picked up Olivia. When I got home she was asleep, supper was on the stove and he was in the tanning bed. I decided I was going to sneak up on him like he always does to me when I am trying to relax in there. So I peak quietly into the door on my hands and knees, but he wasn't in there. I opened the door a little more and found him like this.
This is Chad's version of laying in the tanning bed. He only does this every now and then. He says he is catching his legs up to his arms and chest. Anyway...it was really funny because he had actually dozed off. I tried to take snap a picture, but was to late. He woke up. I told him to close his eyes, but he wouldn't participate. He also told me not show anybody this picture BUT I am. He shouldn't mind too much...
Fridays Off
Today has been pretty busy. After Olivia had her breakfast this morning. We got dressed and went walking/strolling. She loves to be outside. We walked all the way to the park in our neighborhood, walked one mile and then back to the house. Olivia loved it so much that she passed out.
It doesn't take to much movement before she is out of it. We came back home. I washed some clothes and did a few things around the house. I am getting so bad about not wanting to clean my house. It's horrible. I can not for the life of me make myself clean. All I have been doing lately is just straighten up/wash clothes/load&unload the dishwasher and vacuum. I just always think that the other stuff can wait...I don't want to spend all my time cleaning. I told me my mom the other day that I would love to have someone just come vacuum and mop for me once a week. That's all. Wonder how much that would cost? She said more than I would want to pay...maybe not? Wonder how much it would cost? I might look into it, if our plan other cleaning plan doesn't work out. (See last post for details).
For lunch we went to another park one with swings. We met my mom&dad and Chad. We ate lunch, let Olivia swing a little and fed the ducks. It takes her a little while to "warm up" to the swing idea. You can tell it takes her stomach.
She looks so tiny in the swing. (This is actually from last Friday, when we went with Paige.)
Alright....I am cutting this one short. My eyeballs are getting too heavy. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
