Six Month-Easter Pictures

I met Sha yesterday afternoon to pick up the cd of pictures. I am pleased with them. I think her 3 month pictures were somewhat better, but these are good too. Next time we take pictures we can't forget Chad. And it didn't help that she didn't feel the greatest. Oh well...we have the memories!

Saturday Night Ramble

I don't have long for this post. I am supposed to start washing the bottles while Chad gives Olivia a bath. And it's already after 10. We had praise team practice tonight. Tomorrow night we (our church) will be going to the Lovelady Center to do their worship service and Brother Adam will preach. In a nutshell the Lovelady Center is a place for women to come after they have been in jail, court ordered, domestic violence, etc.
We have been to the Lovelady Center several times. I always look forward to going. The women there are true worshipers. They have been at their lowest low and know that Jesus is the only answer. It really makes you put things in perspective and realize how much we (I) take for granted.

So that is why Olivia is going to be later than usual. She is not one of those baby that has this certain bedtime. She pretty much does what we do. I mean I always try to at least give her a bath somewhere between 9 and 9:30. She takes a bottle and goes to bed. That's another thing I am working on. Less bottles. She used to take about 8 bottles a day. That was before baby food. Now she takes 3-4 bottles a day. Really depending on what we are doing. Sometimes it's just easier to just give her a bottle. Especially if we are out and about. Here is a picture of her today. She feel asleep in the high chair after eating her lunch. She ended up taking about a 30 minute nap there.

She is such a sweet baby. I am starting to wonder what the second one will be like. You know how people always say your first one will trick you into another.
We defiantly have it way to easy with her.

Happy Friday

**UPDATED**
Fridays are my day off. I had mixed emotions about cutting back to 4 days a week, but now I LOVE it!! It is so nice to have an extra day, aside from the weekend, to get stuff done around the house, run errands and spend time with Olivia.

Today has been a lazy day for the most part. There are a lot of things I could be doing in the house, but Olivia has other plans. I have said it before, but she is into EVERYTHING! She is all over the place. I will sit her in the living room with some toys and before I know it she has followed me into the kitchen! She has got the crawling thing down pat. Now she is getting to where she will even pulling up on stuff. Before we know it she will be walking. Here's a picture from last Friday where she pulled up to the coffee table.

******************************
Okay, so now it's 10:00 and I started this post around 12:00 this afternoon. Something happened to my camera. For some reason it has locked my card. When I try to change a picture on my computer from the card it won't let me. I took the card out, put it back in the camera to see what is going on and it won't let me delete any of the pictures or even take a picture. When I try to take a picture it says that it is Write Protect. How in the world this happened I have no clue. I know my card is full, but it won't let me even delete any of the pictures. I am going to have to see if I can find my book and try and figure out what is going on.
Would anyone else happen to know?

I will post the picture once I figure out what my retarded camera is doing.

Yay! Thanks Megan! I figured you would be able to help. I actually looked for that lock tab, but I guess I just wasn't paying close enough attention. Thank You!!

A Weekend of Firsts

This weekend was a firsts for Olivia. She had her first sickness. It started Saturday morning. She woke up with a runny nose and lots of sneezing. If I wiped her nose once, I wiped it twenty times. She got tired of that real fast. We played for a little while that morning and then got ready to go have her pictures taken. She slept the entire way to the studio, so she was a little slow when we started the picture taking. I learned real quick not to have her pictures made without bring Dada (she has really started saying that a lot here lately & Chad eats it up!) He does all the crazy noises and faces to make her laugh. Nana and mommy just don't quite cut it. Hopefully there will be a few decent pictures. She seemed to like the bunnies. She would touch them, pull their ears and a few times try to pick them up. We took pictures for about an hour and a half or longer and Olivia was completely over taking pictures. By the time we were back home she had gotten some what worse with the sneezing, running nose. I called Stephanie to ask her about what medicine she gave Paige. She had some type of sample drug (antihistamine) that her doctor gave her. She still had one of the samples that she hadn't used, so I made a quick trip to her house to pick it up. Olivia stayed with my mom for a couple of hours while I went to the ball park to watch Chad play softball. After the ball field we had praise team practice at church. All the while I had been calling in checking on Olivia and mom kept thinking she was getting some what worse and kept saying that she was "fretful" and not resting like she normally would have. She also made the comment that we might not sleep good that night. She had me all worked up and worried about having a sick sleepless baby.
Well...she slept fine that night, but wasn't much better Sunday morning. Her nose wasn't running as much, but was really dry out and her eyes were watering. The whole time she had not temperature. Just allergy symptoms.
So...(wow this seems long) Sunday morning she was in our bed and I went to the kitchen to make her a bottle. And she had her 2nd of firsts. She rolled off our bed. I heard the thump and ran in there. Luckily she landed on some pillows that were in the floor. I think it just scared her more than anything. I still don't know how she did it. I was only in the kitchen for a second and she wasn't really good and awake yet, so she wasn't moving around a lot.
Today Olivia seems a lot better. All the yuck stuff has moved to her chest. Still has a little runny nose, but nothing like Saturday. I am sure in another day or two she will be back at 100%. So maybe it wasn't her first actual sickness, but pretty close I guess. Even when she doesn't feel great she still is such a good baby.

Spring Time

Did you know today is the first day of Spring? I didn't til I saw google's homepage this morning.
This morning we got up and I did a few things in the house. Mainly folded 2 loads of Olivia's clothes and folded some towels. I hate folding and putting away clothes. We got dressed and headed to my parents to eat lunch before meeting Stephanie & Paige at the park.
It was to beautiful to not be outside. We walked a couple of times around the track and then laid out a quilt for the girls. I attempted to take a couple of pictures, which is not easy with a 7 & 14 month old.

Getting started. First time I have put her in her stroller without the car seat.

And...she's out. It doens't take much to put her to sleep. And she had to have her shoe.

They really like each other.

One of my favorites.

Sweet Girl

Thursdays 13

1. Tonight is our first bible study with a new book. He Speaks to Me Preparing to Hear from God by Priscilla Shirer. I am so excited! I hope this study is a lot different than our last.

2. I don't know if I have shared on here, but my friend Brianna is expecting twin GIRLS...IDENTICAL GIRLS!! Isn't that so exciting!! Olivia will have 2 new friends!!

3. Yesterday Chad took a day off and kept Olivia. He does some of the funniest stuff with her. I always like to see what clothes he puts on her. He actually has somewhat of an opinion about what she wears.

4. When Chad keeps her he will always send me pictures of what they are doing throughout the day. I think they have too much fun together.

5. Chad is the best husband and dad! He loves Olivia so much. I get so tickled at some of the stuff he says to her. Like the other night he was feeding her in the high chair and we were talking about how long her hair is getting. He said something along the lines of he couldn't wait til he can braid her hair. I thought that was so sweet. And to think he once said (way before I was pregnant) that he couldn't have any girls. and he didn't want to be like my dad. He ate his words BIG time!

6. Saturday we are having Olivia's 6 month/Easter pictures made. The photographer has little bunnies and cute props. I can't wait to see what Olivia will do.

7. Last Friday I went over to Stephanie's and looked through some of Paige's outgrown clothes and got a ton of stuff for FREE!! I got a couple of Strausburg dresses, Children's Place and Gymboree outfits. Half of the clothes we pulled out Stephanie would say, "she never even wore this or she only wore this once!" I told her I wouldn't buy clothes anymore and just let her buy them. ;)

8. The past couple of days I have been really trying to take the stairs at work and it is already start to make a difference. You would think it's not that big of deal to take the stairs but it is.

9. Sometimes I wish life would slow down a little bit. I feel like time is just flying bye way to fast!

10. I am really getting Beach fever. This year it might just be the Waldrop's only. We usually go with Eric and Brianna, but I don't think they will get to make it this year. It will be too close to time for the girls to come.

11. I think Olivia will be a water baby. I am so ready to get the pool open and go swimming.

12. Okay...so I am basically just ready for SUMMER!!

13. Yesterday was my Maw-Maw's 87th Birthday.

I love her so much. I can always count on her to be my prayer warrior.
I was talking to her yesterday and she was talking about how she was going to cut her grass today. Yep...she is 87 years old and still cuts her own grass!!

Financial Peace

We are in the 6th week of FPU with Dave Ramsey. It is going pretty well so far. I think it has really shown us how much money we spend waste. We don't go exactly by the rules, but for the most part we do. If that makes sense. Basically you should work with a zero balanced budget. Meaning you should budget spending all your money for the month (like Dave does) or like me and by pay period. I just found it a lot easier that way. I have this whole Excel spreadsheet I made for our budget. It is probably a little too nit picky, but I like it and it shows EVERY $ we spend, what we bought (I don't put down every item we buy, like the time when we made our fist trip to the grocery store after doing the budget and spent $279!!) I about had a stroke!

Another one of Dave's tips is the envelope system. You should pay cash for certain items like gas, food, clothing, etc. Each category would have a envelope with a beginning balance and you would simply deduct each time you used money from that envelope. I do basically the same thing, but with my debit card. I have a couple of categories. Clothing/Entertainment, Groceries, Gas, & Eating Out. I just keep up with everything in Excel instead of the envelope.
Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with this whole budget thing. We are not in debt. We just don't save like we should and we waste money. So why I am stressing so bad? I am to the point where I feel bad when I buy something (even though it's budgeted) or I don't even want to buy anything-which is strange. I guess in the long run I just want to control OUR money and not OUR money control us! That is what I want to accomplish from this whole Financial Peace class.
Sometimes I just wish life were a little bit easier and I don't worry about the little things so much.

On the Move

This is not the video I wanted to post, but I posted this one anyway. I have been messing with trying to upload the other video on and off ever since 7:30 and it's now 11:30. I don't know what the deal is. I think the other one might be to large. So this video is from last night. It's not that great but you get the idea. Olivia is all over the place and into everything!

Pic of the Day

...For some people. Olivia doesn't sleep in our bed. And no, I am not pregnant.

Update

Wow! I have been slackin. Sorry. I just have so much other stuff going on lately. It seems like the days are just flying by. Not a whole lot is going on since I last updated. This weekend we were on the go. Here is a recap.

Friday-Me, Olivia and mom went to Cotton Tails Village. I bought a couple of summer outfits, bows and Olivia's Easter dress. We also went to Tricia's Baby Station and Babies R Us. We basically shopped all day.

Saturday-Chad had to work a little that morning and then went and played softball all day. Me and Olivia went to a baby shower with my mother-in-law in Fayette and that basically took up the biggest part of the day.

Sunday- Went to church. Got there late because Olivia slept late. I was expecting her to wake up around 8. I jumped up around 9:15 and realized I had over slept. I went in to check on Olivia and she was just playing in her bed. Sunday afternoon I went to Bri's house to help clean out the babies room. We only cleaned a little. Eric did most of the work. The rest of the time we looked at baby bedding and furniture. We went back to church that afternoon for FPU and then I made a trip to WalMart to pick up a few things.

Tonight Chad has a Mine Safety class so he will get home late.
Mom ordered The Wave and we are going to try it out tonight. Hopefully it's something a little extra I can do to try and tone before I break out the shorts and swimsuits. One thing I have been trying to do is take the stairs in my building. Just doing that 2 times a day is pretty good. You think 10 flights is not that bad, but once you get to about the 5th floor you start to rethink your decision.
