Six Month Check Up & Baby Food

Today we took Olivia to the Doctor for her six month check up. Chad came along this time. He didn't have much going on at work so he came with us. She weighed 16 1/2 lbs and was 24 1/2 inches long. I never know the percentiles. He says she is average for weight and a little below average for her height. Which is expected since I am short.
She got four shots and the Rotavirus by mouth. Dr. D said she looked great was happy to see how well she was sitting up unsupported. He also said that we could slowly start to introduce some table foods. I was like great. The only time Chad comes and he had to say something about her eating table food. He is always trying to get me to let her taste things. Mostly just the sauce from something and he just had to put a little bit of lemon juice on the end of straw with water for her to taste. I don't know...I just have this weird thing about her eating table foods to early. I mean he didn't tell me I had to give her anything like tomorrow, but just in the next few weeks we could start to introduce some foods to her if we wanted to. So far she doesn't seem to be a picky eater with the stage 1 baby foods. She will eat all the foods even the prunes and green beans. Most babies don't like green beans for some reason. Personally I don't really care for her to eat the green beans because they stink! But I do like green beans...just not mashed up green beans.

Have any of you moms ever thought about making your own baby food? I have thought about it, but that is as far as I got.

Wordless Wednesday

Almost...
I can't believe my baby is six months old today. It's crazy how fast time goes by. She will be one before I know it.

Bag Tag

Okay Blog World (girls) here is a little tag for you. It's a Bag Tag. Here are the rules:

1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying right now.
2. How much did it cost. Basically just give a story with your bag where you got it, if you got it on sale, etc.
3. List and describe what is actually in your bag. This should be interesting.

My current purse.
I bought this purse the day after Thanksgiving at Belk. I needed a new black bag and thought this would be a good fit plus it was on SALE!! It was regular $60 and I got it for $15!!

Inside

I really like this purse. I think it's a good size, and it's easy for me to find what I am looking for. Chad on the other had said it looked like a garbage bag. What does he know?

Contents
Some of the bigger items in my purse are my Vera wristlet which I love. Most of the time I just carry the wristlet. It has my drivers license, debit card and cell phone. An external hard drive for work. My make-up bad, wallet with checkbook and check register, and a Louis Vuittion bag that I use to keep my tampons and panty liners in.

Smaller Items

2 types of Johnson & Johnson's lotion, hand sanitizer, finger nail clippers, a bag of popcorn, a bag of 100 calorie chocolate covered pretzels (I had those in there for work. My purse sometimes doubles as my lunch box.) Two peppermints, a pack of gum, cream from Olivia's dermatologist, chap stick I never use, a pony tail holder with 2 bobby pins. Midol (actually Sarah's), Server tape for work, Tylenol Cold and Sinus medicine, 2 panty liners (since I had the Mirena inserted I am not really regular so I have to be prepared. By the way...if you have had a baby or maybe you haven't and you would like something 10 times better than the pill, I would highly recommend Mirena) and tissue.

Miscellaneous Papers

This is not has bad as it was just a couple of days ago. I just threw away about 10 receipts. I am so bad to hold onto receipts. I have my receipt from lunch (Zoe's my favorite!) Chad's truck bill with debit card transactions written on it. An old check register. And a couple of more random receipts.

There you have it. That's what you would find in my bag (purse) right now. I am really getting to where I don't even carry a purse that much. I just use my wristlet and the other times I have a diaper bag. I really only carry my purse into work.

I tag whoever wants to be tagged! What's in your bag?

Thursdays 13

1. Is it Thursday already?!? This week has flew bye.

2. Tonight our bible study group and a few other girls are going to Sips N Strokes. I am so excited and can't wait! I love going. It is so much fun and relaxing. Here is what we will be attempting.

3. I am finally able to get my hair cut Friday. I have been putting it off and really need a cut. I love getting it done!

4. I ordered a new cell phone yesterday. Mine is on the verge of biting the dust. I decided to go with the Pink Black Jack II. I am not a total pink girl, but I thought it was cute. My color is GREEN.

6. Last week our church showed the movie "Fireproof." The turnout was great and we had a lot of fun! I still think every couple needs to see this movie.

7. I am kind of struggling here for 13 things...

8. Oh...we had our taxes done Tuesday night. We are getting enough back to pay off our heat pump! Yay!! Oh, and next year we get to count the heat pump!

9. I think that this Stimulus Package is a bunch of crap and is the craziest, silliest thing I have ever heard!

10. One of the issues they read this morning on R&B was $90,000 for doorbells in Laurel, Mississippi which created 2 jobs! Are you kidding me?!? $90,000 for doorbells? That is ridiculous.

11. Next Friday me, Olivia and mom are going to Cottontails Village at the civic center. I hope to find Livi some new little outfits and some more hair bows...that are just the right size. ;)

12. I bought Olivia her first swimsuit last week. Just a little one piece. It's so cute! I can't wait to see what she will do in the pool this Summer.

I got the one on the bottom.

13. I am beyond ready for warm weather. Olivia already loves to be outside. Everytime we take her out she just looks at everything and talks the whole time. She's so sweet.

I hope everyone is having a good week!

Precious Baby

Home Sick

I am home sick today. I am pretty sure it was from my lunch yesterday. I was feeling somewhat better when I woke up this morning but felt yuck when I started moving around and getting ready. So, I just took a day today.
I wanted to post these pictures of Olivia. She is really starting to scoot around here lately. Friday I had layed her down on the pallet to play while I did some stuff in the kitchen. After a few mintues I went in there to check on her and didn't see her immediatly. I freaked out for a second, then turned the corner to veiw the whole living, and found her playing with the xbox controller cords. Here are a few pictures of her from Monday night.
Where I layed her down.

Where she ended up.

Blogging & Hair Bows

I started this blog, the first time as a way to keep up with my pregnancy. Let's just say I didn't do to hot. I started back a couple of months later (still pregnant) and have kept it up ever since. I just kind of feel like it's my little outlet. I can just put out there whatever I want to. I also feel in some ways it is a good way for me to keep up with happenings with Olivia as she grows older. For those of you who know me well. I am not a scrapbook person. The computer is a lot easier. Two clicks and the picture is uploaded. So, I guess I said all that to say this.
This is my blog. My thoughts, my feelings, my reactions, It's ME. Take it or leave it. I am not making you read this blog. So, if I say something that may offend you I am sorry, but that is how I feel. I am in no way being rude or unjust. This is just my personal opinion. If you don't like it. Don't. Read.

Alright...now that I have said that....I wanted to get a few things off my chest. Tonight me and a friend were talking (chatting on FB) about random things. Some how our conversation lead to hair bows. GIANT hair bows. You know...the hair bows that are so BIG it looks like your child's neck is going to break. The hair bows that are so BIG they are bigger than your babies own head? What is so cute about that? I think they are a little silly looking and just too much for my taste. My friend googled giant ugly hair bows and this is what we got.

Big Girl Style

Sorry if you can't find the humor in this. I (WE) think it's hilarious!

*Remember-This is MY opinion only. We all have our opinions regarding style and taste. This is mine and I am stating MY opinion on MY blog.*

"I Got Your L"

Megan (a new blogger friend) is playing a letter game. I asked for a letter so I could play too. I was assigned the letter "L." Now I have to list 10 things that start with L. It is just another interesting way to share fun stuff about yourself and to learn about others. If you want to play along, just leave a comment on this post. Then I will comment you back with a letter. Be sure to let me know when you post your ten things so I can check it out.

Hopefully I can come up with 10 things.

Financial Peace

Sunday we will start Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at our church. I have wanted to do this program for awhile now. To be honest I am a little nervous. The past couple of times I have been out doing some mindless shopping the thought came across my mind that I probably wouldn't be able to do this much longer. Now we aren't in huge debt. We have typical/common debt...our home, my car, and chads truck (which is almost paid for) and now paying for our new heating and air unit (which I hope to pay off with our tax return). That's all. No credit cards, which I am very happy to say. I think our biggest problem is mindless spending, mostly EATING OUT. Sometimes Chad will eat out everyday of the week Monday-Friday (Breakfast & Lunch)!! That really starts to add up!! One time I added up or food costs, and we spent close to $400 in food not including groceries!! Another problem we have is Saving. We very rarely put money in our savings account and if it gets put in there I am the one to do it. I think the biggest problem is that is such a hassle to transfer the money. We bank at one place and save at another.
The past couple of weeks I have been aggravating Chad about the class. About how, "Dave is going to get him." I guess we will see who he actually gets.

There is a little fact on the website. It says "Over 650,000 families have completed FPU with amazing success. On average they pay off $5,300 in debt and save $2,700 in just 13 weeks!!"
I hope and pray we are average!!
