The Giggles

Last night when Chad was getting Olivia ready for her bath she got the giggles. I was only able to record a few seconds of her laughing. Chad was just being silly with her and she loved it.

Five Months & The Weekend

It's hard to believe that Olivia is already 5 months old. It's crazy how fast the time goes. She will be walking and talking our ears off before we know it. Lately, she has been trying to crawl. It's pretty interesting to watch her. She looks like a little inch worm or something. It's so cute.

Here is a picture I took this past week. I got a better one of her today at my parent's house, but it was on their camera. It almost looks like she is trying to do a hand-stand or something.
She just wants to be into everything we are doing. If we have something she just has to have it. She is growing up so fast. It's so bitter sweet.

We LOVE this little girl so much! We don't know what we would do without her!!

**********************************

This afternoon my dad's side of the family got together for my Kissy Paw-Paw's Birthday. His actual Birthday is the 28th so we celebrated today. He will be 73 years old. He had a rough year this year. He had a heart attack in early August which led to heart bypass surgery. Then in September he lost his last sibling (a sister) to cancer. So we especially wanted to celebrate this Birthday. I guess you could say it was somewhat emotional.

*******************************************

Saturday we went to UA basketball game with our Pastor Adam & his wife Lindsay. It was sort of random, but fun. Our Pastor is a BIG Bama fan and he LOVES Basketball! It was nice to just get away and do something a little different. Olivia stayed with someone other than my mom or my mother-in-law. She stayed with the McGehee's. Susan really wanted to keep her and had asked when we were going to let her babysit. So we asked her if she had plans for Saturday. She was so excited! They had a lot of fun and Olivia was good. I am so glad that she will just go with anybody. I didn't want her to be (I guess you would say titty baby). She is happy with just about anybody that will take her and play with her and talk to her. Olivia is a very pleasant baby. So that really helps. One time, I told my pedi, that she knows how I am. That is why she's like that. He just kind of laughed. :D

Okay...enough for tonight. I am going to bed.

Priceless

This weekend I bought Chad one of the Kelty Kids baby carrier. We looked at them Wednesday when were in Babies R Us, but they didn't have any in stock. He has been wanting one of the carriers and really wanted one of the Kelty Kids since he had one of their backpacks. I thought it was to expensive, and didn't want to pay for it if he weren't going to use it very much. Another reason is because I wanted a new diaper bag and would rather get that instead of the carrrier, besides the diaper bag was much cheaper. Well...I didn't get the bag and he didn't get the carrier. On Saturday I went back to Babies R Us to get the bag anyway. Chad can just get over it. :D I go pick up the bag and look at the carriers and they had one....just one left of the Kelty Kids. I decided I would buy it anyway and surprise him and then we would also forget about me getting the diaper bag. I got home and showed him what I bought and the last thing I showed him was the carrier. He was happy and had to try it out. So....that is why I just had to post this picture of him and Olivia trying it out. Her face is priceless!! There were other better pictures, but I think this was the first picture I took. I think she will like the carrier.

Please excuse Chad. He had just taken a shower and hadn't put a shirt on yet. I promise we are not redneck! :D

This cracks me up every time I look at it and Mr. sure is cheesin' it!

A Really Good Deal

I have been looking for picture frames for about a month now. I needed some frames to hang Olivia's 3 month pictures. I had 2 11x14's that I really wanted to hang and some others that I was, well just going to figure out later. If you know me very well, you know that I am very indecisive at times, especially with my house decor. For instance I bought a really big picture to put up in my living room last Christmas and seriously just hung it two weeks ago! How bad is that?!? I was about to just get rid of it. Anyway...back to my story. I had been shopping for some frames not really finding what I wanted, which I really didn't know what I wanted. I was about to decide on some frames at a local frame shop in the best ever Jasper mall (yeah right!) They were going to cost at least 40 dollars a frame. I decided not to get them until I went to Birmingham to look some more. I am so glad I made that decision! Saturday we went to Hobby Lobby and found my frames! I got 2 11x14s and one frame that holds 3 5x7 pictures matte. The 11x14s were both $31.99 and the other frame was $39.99. I got all 3 frames with tax included for 59 dollars!!! I was so excited!! What a good deal. All their frames were 50% off!! Here is a picture of the frames.

It's not the best picture, but you get the idea. I haven't got to put the 5x7s in the frame yet, I didn't have the time and the pictures were cooperating. I just had to share. Don't you love when you get really good deals?

I will try and post a picture when they are actually on the wall. Hopefully I will have them up before Olivia turns 1!

Don't be alarmed

So this weekend I started back taking the inner office mail between the Birmingham and Jasper offices. Something I have done for awhile, took a break from after having Olivia and thought I wouldn't do it again. It's just kind of annoying and it gets old. They do give me extra money for taking the mail, but it's not enough. It's never enough. I am sure they would beg to differ.

A couple of reason why I hate taking the mail:

People would always ask, "was this check in the mail?" "Do you know if this invoice was in the mail?" "We can't find a check that was in the mail, did you see it?" "Are you taking the mail today?" Or how about I am taking a shower Tuesday morning (in the hospital, yes ONE day after having Olivia) and BH (my boss) sends me a text a asking me if I remember seeing a check that would've went to Jasper on Friday? Heck No, I didn't see it and further more I wouldn't remember if I had! I JUST had a BABY!!! Don't ask me if I remember if something was in the mail from Friday!

I am a simple carrier!!! I pick up/ drop off. I don't inspect the mail and I don't even disperse it!! Don't ask me if something was in there because I don't look. If they put it in the mail, then it will be in the envelope, if they didn't, well then it's just not there! Sorry for the rant, but it's extremely annoying. So I am off on Fridays so I pick up the Jasper mail sometime late Friday afternoon or during the weekend.

So this weekend was my first time starting back. I decided I would pick up Jasper's mail Sunday afternoon on my way to church. I get there unlock the door and put the code in the alarm and it doesn't work, I do it again and it doesn't work. I start to worry...you only have so many seconds and chances to put in the code (one which is very easy to remember. It's written inside the box where the buttons are and it's also the PO number.) I put the code in one more time thinking it will magically be right. Well....I was WRONG!!! The ALARM goes off!! GREAT!!!

My heart was beating out of my chest like I had done something wrong. So, I started thinking what should I do? I had no ones number to call. I had the owners number in my cell and I called him. (I didn't want to, but I did) of course, he didn't answer. I called my boss and she didn't answer. I left her a VM to call me back ASAP ( she calls me back 1 hour later...hey, thanks for the help!) So, I wait and wait for the Police or somebody to come, and no one is coming!?! I mean if I was a robber I would've been long gone!! I didn't know what else to do so I called 911 because I couldn't think of the Police Department's number. I told her the situation and she connected me to the PD, but for some reason I hung up. I think it was because I saw the fire department coming down the street. So I waved them down. (Now our office is across the street from the fire department and two blocks over from the police department.) You would think it wouldn't take 10 minutes to come to our office. I tell the firemen my situation they get out and we walk in the building messing with the alarm system and it finally just goes off. I guess it just timed out or something. ??? I make them wait with me while I reset the alarm and lock the door to make sure it doesn't go off again or something. Luckily nothing happened. Got back in the car with the mail (oh yeah and Olivia) and then the Police officer pulls up.....thanks, but I don't need your help now! Come to find out they changed the code and forgot to tell me.

What a wonderful way to start off something I dread doing!

Have you heard about this?

Okay...since I am in the car so much. I am an avid listener of the Rick & Bubba show- love, love, love the show. The other morning they were talking about this video of Penn from Penn & Teller (who is a well known Atheist). They and me included had other feelings about Penn's response to receiving the Bible. You can clearly tell he is somewhat emotional about receiving the gift. The whole purpose of this story is basically are you telling others about Jesus? The ONE we talk so highly of, The ONE who heals, The ONE who gives Life, The ONE who provides for us, The ONE who redeems us, etc...???? He says, "if a truck is bearing down on you and your not getting out of the way, I am going to do everything I can to make you move." It's the same way with us, believers. Are we doing everything we possibly can to tell others about Jesus? Why do I not tell people about Jesus, like it's a life or death situation? Why am I not jumping up and down yelling for you to "just move," make that step towards him. He will meet you there. He will be there for you. He is ALWAYS there! You just have to come to him. He loves you & me so much than we will ever know!!

Bubbling Over

I heard some of the best news ever this morning!! I am so excited I can't stand it. I can't give details yet, but I will be sharing very soon!! God still answers prayer!!!

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Weekend Review

So this weekend started off kind of boring, I guess you would say. Friday I caught alllllll my laundry up. I even got to the small loads you just kind of put off. The stuff you don't really use all that often. Later in the afternoon we made plans for a girls night. I dropped Olivia off with mom and headed to Birmingham. I made reservations at PF Changs and I am so glad we decided to do that. We got there and the wait was 70-80 minutes, but we only had to wait 5 minutes! After dinner we headed to the movies to see

Bride Wars

We had planned to watch it at the Summit, but it was sold out! :(

We decided to go to Patton Creek and was able to watch a later showing! It was a really good movie. Some of us said that we actually wanted to get married again...of course to the same men, but just do it all over again! It was a long night, but a lot of fun!

Saturday - didn't really do all that much. So more cleaning...FUN and made a trip to WalMart to pick up the Jumperoo for Olivia. Stephanie and Paige came over for a little while later that day we went to Goody's to look for some good buys (since they are closing) and then to mall for Subway. Didn't really buy anything. I wasn't really in the shopping mood. Chad finally got in from hunting all day and we put together the Jumperoo. She really likes it!

Checking it out.

Are you talking to me?

Sunday - We went to church. After church we met my parents and my uncle who's home from Texas at the Summit (again) to eat at Sweet Bones Alabama. It was pretty good, although I can't really taste my food. My sinus are driving my crazy right now! We went it to BabyGap and looked around and just didn't feel like buying any Spring clothes yet. I mean I am not really in the mood to buy a swimsuit and it's 30 degrees outside. It is to early to have that stuff out! We headed back home and back to church. The guys played basketball after church so me, Sabrina (AKA Bri) and Olivia just hung out. It was a nice weekend.
Today was really an uneventful day. It was pretty slow at work, which is sometimes nice. I had to make another WalMart run after work. It seems I am always going in there. I had to buy some wipes and some other small random things. She is a cough right now and her nose is stuffy. It's really aggravating. She doesn't like you to mess with her nose. Of course there is nothing you can do for the cough. Just keep her nose suctioned, use a vaporizer, and pretty much let it run it's course. I just hate hearing her cough though. I have a friend who is a NICU nurse and she said I could give her a little bit of medicine like 2cc (1/2 a tablespoon) of any type of cough suppressant. I did give her a little bit, so maybe it will go away soon. Okay...gotta go, almost bath time!

**UPDATED**

This is my first post for 2009. I am a little behind. I was going to post last night BUT Chad has messed up the internet! He is getting pretty obsessed with his XBox360, Call of Duty 4 & World at War. He just had to play Live and now he has gone wireless. It drives me nuts! Yes, I have a little gamer hubby! I make fun of him all the time and I guess it doesn't bother him too much. His issue is that he gets kicked off the internet a lot when he is playing. The Charter guy told him that we don't have enough band width and then proceeded to give Chad directions on how to change the ip address and get the mac address from his computer and blah, blah, blah....He said it's really easy and would only take a couple of minutes. NOT the story! He spent 2 hours at home yesterday during his lunch messing with this and then after we got home last night he played around with for at least another hour and half. Still didn't work....and now the internet won't work!! Supposedly it's getting fixed today, charter just has to reset our settings.
*************************
Last night I decided (randomly) to give Olivia a bath in the actual bathtub. I normally bathe her in a small bathtub that you can set down in the kitchen sink. Well, she is getting to where she will kick water everywhere and almost to big for the little bathtub. So…I got the water ready and put her in (on the little bather. I am not really sure what you call them.) She loved it! She was just so excited and kicking the whole time. She is so funny! She has always liked taking a bath, so I knew she would be fine. I am ready for her to just be able to sit in the actual tub and play with the toys, put her face in the water, etc. They just grow up so fast. It’s CRAZY!!

I don't know why the first pictures color is so different than the second. Weird....I have been playing around with Picasa and it's a little bit aggravating. I just don't have enough time to waste.
